I played this solo yesterday when I received the new Ark Nova: Marine Worlds expansion. Playing on BGA has highlighted all the fiddly rules for playing individual cards. I must admit that I do find Ark Nova unnecessarily fiddly and icon heavy. I don’t play snakes having developed of phobia about them after living in Singapore. There’s one of a snake where you can bearly make out the snake against the dirt background. It’s like they took zero effort to find good pictures. I like the theme although I find the art a bit lacklustre. Initially we just played it at two although subsequently we’ve successfully taught this to a range of players. I was a bit put off by the claims it overstayed it’s welcome. Too impatient to wait for my pre-ordered copy to arrive.Īnd straight away I liked it. Because I walked into Dice and Slice in Colchester in January 2022 and there was a copy sitting there for £50. I had preordered it as soon as I heard about it in October 2021 but it didn’t actual deliver until July 2022. Although I didn’t actually play it until 2022. Ark Nova is one of my favourite game from 2021.
